This is a fabulous Victorian double snake ring which features two entwined serpents (which represent eternal, everlasting love, loyalty and friendship) with a sparkling ruby and old cut diamond on their respective heads.   These original hallmarked antique snake rings are getting more and more difficult to find, so i was thrilled to come accross this one.

The ring's face measures 11mm at its widest point.  The wide rosy gold band is fully hallmarked for 9ct Gold, Chester and the year 1911.   It weighs a healthy 3.60g and is currently a UK size Q 1/2 (US size 8 1/2) but could be re-sized within reason.

Queen Victoria was an enthusiast of snake jewellery and had several pieces in her personal collection, notably her snake engagement ring from Prince Albert, which symbolised his everlasting love.
