This is a beautiful antique lover's knot ring crafted from 9ct Gold. It features three sparkling diamonds set across the centre of the ring, amongst alternating engraved and plain gold knot folds which create some lovely texture. The three diamonds spread over the gallery are in starburst settings and are completely secure, making this ring safe for every day wear.
What is interesting about this ring is the mixture of Rose and Yellow Gold used across the gallery. Rose Gold has been used for the band and middle section of the ring, but a bright buttery yellow gold has been used for the large lovers knot in the middle, and the two side squares in which the diamonds sit.
This romantic ring remains in excellent condition and is hallmarked for 9ct Gold, Birmingham and the year, 1916. It weighs a very healthy 4.67g and is a UK size O 1/2 which is a US size 7 1/4. It could be re-sized a little way up or down.
Antique lover's knot rings date back to the early 20th century and as they become rarer, they are very sought after. They are steeped in sentimentality with the knot symbolising two people entwined for eternity; hence why they are often given as romantic tokens or as eternity rings.
